Ok, I know I've said this before, but ... I think I've got the short figured out. David came over tonight and he and I went through a big chunk of the wires under the dash with a multimeter and figured out what's going on. Or... at least we figured out which set of wires it could be. We ran out of time and daylight so I'll finish the job tomorrow. I just have to figure out where exactly the headlight relay is, pop off the harness and jump the ground with all the wires going to each of the individual lights. Hopefully just one is shorted and not a whole bunch of them. From what I've been seeing, I'm guessing that the culprit is somewhere under the driver's side fender. I think it's either the left turn signal or the left corner marker light. Anyway, we'll see. Cross your fingers.

Well, I'm in the middle of moving out of Orange County, so things have been pretty slow for the past few weeks. But, I recently received front and rear T3 strut tower braces. The front went on beautifully, but the rear was a bit tricky. What the instructions left out was the fact that the brackets that bolt down to the rear wheel wells will conform to the wells' curves as you tighten up the bolts. Not knowing this, I was freaking out because the brackets wouldn't line up very well against the wells. So I called up Gabriel and T3 and once he told me the full story, it was easy installing it. (I just wish I had a digital camera to document all these installs I've been doing) Again, very nice looking pieces of equipment.

Which brings me to the original reason I was going to write an entry. It's been a long time since I did anything with the interior of my car... and to install the rear strut tower brace, I had to remove the trim that goes over both wheel wells. This was a lot more involved than I remembered. So now that the rear half of my car has no interior trim, I've decided to just go ahead and strip the rest of the interior to get it ready for new carpeting and new interior door panels.

While the carpeting is out, this will also give me a chance to strip and refinish the interior paint. I had a pretty big clutch master cylinder leak for a few months which leaked a bunch of fluid into the driver's side floor board underneath the carpeting. That needs to be cleaned up and probably sanded down. Once that's cleaned up, I'll probably refinish all the metal inside the car with black primer and leave it at that. I don't think I'll pay the extra money to get the interior painted when I get the rest of the car done. But... who knows. =)
