It's been weeks since I've picked up the S12 side skirts for the AE86. I've gone through a BUNCH of junkyards and can't find the rear end caps for it. Turns out there are two different styles of sideskirts that the S12 came with and, of course, the good ones I found are the rare ones. So, I think I'm going to ditch the S12 skirts and just spring for the J.Blood copies that DN is selling on Club4AG. TechnoToyTuning retails them and I'll just get the skirts through them.

Speaking of which, there's been some stuff going on in the background that I haven't really put down in the blog. Lance (OhtaGerbilHero on Club4AG) is getting an engine swap at Gushi Auto for dirt cheap. And they're doing a lot for the money he's spending. His car should be done any day now, and if all went well for him, I'm taking my AE86 down to them ASAP. I want the SAME THING.

So, that means the AE86 will be running hopefully before the end of May.

Then there's the bodywork angle I've been working. Through the guys at TechnoToyTuning, I met Robert Webber of Altered Egos custom autobody and paint shop. His work is top notch. And he wants a website! So I'm working a trade for him. I design him one sick website, and he hooks me up with one sick paint job. I'm SOOOO stoked. I'd like to see the car get done sometime in June. That way the car will be done and ready for Anime Expo. w00t!

Well, I got the rear coilovers in over the past few days. Took me over an hour to put the first one in. But once I got it all figured out, it only took about 30 minutes for the 2nd one. And most of that time was in beating out the sheetmetal so the upper hat on the coilover would clear. I have a write up in the Installs page.

One annoying thing is that the coilovers "clunk" when hyperextended... like going over gutters at an angle. Oh well, that shouldn't happen too often.
